Martin Nesbitt is the Senior Partner, Co-Chairman & Co-CEO of The Vistria Group, a Chicago-based private equity firm founded in 2013. From 1998 to 2012, Nesbitt served as president and CEO of The Parking Spot, which provided off-airport parking facilities, where he was responsible for running all strategic and operational aspects of the company. Nesbitt, an Ohio native, met Barack Obama in the late 1980s playing basketball on Chicago’s South Side while attending the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Nesbitt has maintained a central role in Obama’s Chicago social network, and was an early supporter of Obama’s Senate campaigns. Nesbitt then served as the campaign treasurer during Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign. Beginning in 2014, Nesbitt has served as the chairman of the Barack Obama Foundation, the nonprofit that will build the Obama Presidential Center and Library. The two remain close friends.
